For advanced practice nursing fields there are separate accrediting organizations. For example, the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program (COA) accredits nurse anesthesia programs at the certificate, masters, and doctoral degree levels.

The school that you choose should be accredited by a national organization. The respective state bodies accredit some online nursing schools. Even though you will get a good quality education from such schools, nationally accredited schools will not recognize their degrees when you choose to pursue further education.
