Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie frequently make lists about star power or beautiful appearances. However, Vanity Fair has released their Top 100 Power List. The power list is about more than just being a pretty face, having a keen fashion sense, or even talent.
According to Vanity Fair:
The Vanity Fair 100 represents a global, movable band of thinkers, owners, creators, and buyers who are the tastemakers, trendsetters, opinion formers and agenda creators in the worlds of politics, entertainment, media, business, technology, and fashion. Entry into the ranks of the V.F. 100 is based on a number of factors: wealth and influence, as well as such intangibles as vision, philanthropy, and the x factor.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ranked in at 9th place on the Vanity Fair 100. The pair were a joint entry rather than two separate entries, which is a bit weird, but the important thing is that people are noticing that the Jolie-Pitt union is way more than a red carpet couple. They were listed as both actors and activists. It’s their first time on the list, so to be placed in the top ten is impressive.
The top ten people on the Vanity Fair 100 are as follows (with their 2007 ranking in parentheses):
1. Vladimir Putin, Russian Prime Minister (new entry)
2. Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. (1)
3. Sergey Brin (3), Larry Page (3), and Eric Schmidt (new entry), Google
4. Steve Jobs, Apple, Disney, and Pixar (2)
5. Warren Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway (5)
6. Jeff Bezos, Amazon (23)
7. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai (new entry)
8. Roman Abramovich, Millhouse Capital (30)
9. Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, actors, activists (new entry)
10. Al Gore, eco-warrior (19)
