Paris Hilton’s reps have canceled a number of screenings of her documentary in the hopes of creating more buzz regarding the film.
A recent report says that the reps pressed organizers of the Toronto International Film Festival to cut the number of screenings. “We wanted to create more buzz - create some hype . . . We felt the impact would be more extreme if we had one screening,” said Paris’ representative Jason Moore to Page Six of the New York Post.
The 68 minute documentary, “Paris, Not France,” was reduced down to just one screening, which will be shown on September 8. The movie is supposed to show different sides of Paris.
“Petty inspires her to talk about her life in a way that no other journalist has: the rebellious streak that propelled her into a modeling career, the shock of having her sex life exposed to the world, and the pressures of living under constant media distortions. Paris is by turns seductive and vulnerable, in charge and out of control,” says the TIFF info about the film.
