Some of you foodies would know that the best restaurant in the world is a restaurant near Barcelona, Spain called El Bulli. Suanne and I had tried to get a reservation last year but failed to get one simply because we put in out reservation way too late. So, this year, we marked it down on our calendar and put in our reservation request on the day and hour the reservation booking is opened for 2009. We waited ... and ...

This site is getting to that age where it becomes necessary for me to check the archives to see if I have done a certain recipe before or not. This seems like a simple task until one realizes that my categorization index can best be described as unfortunate and the discipline needed to maintain the unfortunate categories is scatter shot. All of this is my way of saying that I don't believe that I've posted a recipe for peanut butter c

We didn't know what to expect at Crema Restaurant, a place we've walked past so many times, but never entered. It was pretty empty, as many places seem to be these days. So we were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We got great Mexican flavors without much grease, and everything was plated beautifully.

My friend Angie recommended Degustation a while ago and we finally got around to going. It's set up as a bar around the open kitchen, which is very cool, but not ideal for 4 people. It was a little harder to talk to our friends, Martin and Melissa, so I would recommend going in pairs. (Take a date if you want to impress.) I do strongly recommend going, so with just 16 seats, you'll need reservations.

Every now and then Suanne and I get emails from chowtimes readers recommending a restaurant they like. We love recommendations like that because it takes the brainwork out of having to decide where to eat. Jacqueline recommended Hai Jun to which was located on the Asian mall called Pacific Plaza on McKim Way and Odlin.

I love cheese. All by itself. In something or on something. Cold or hot. It doesn’t matter. When I was little, I went through a cheese sandwich phase. In France, Halloween isn't a very big deal, and so it's one of the few times that I allow myself to be super-American. I got dressed up as a vampire, went out to a Canadian bar with a bunch of Americans from my school and basically allowed myself, for one night, to be everything that I hate about American ex-pats living in France: loud, boisterous and ultra-American.
