Mint has a cooling action and it is a good stimulator and tonic. As a reply to the cooling effect of mint applied to the skin, the human body stimulates blood circulation.
Mint can be used internally to treat the digestive system, asthma and sinusitis. For external usage, it is recommended for acne. Applied over the temples and the nape of the neck, the mint oil alleviates headaches. Mint is also used in cosmetic industry (lotions) and food industry (cooling drinks, liqueurs, sweets and chewing gums).
The herb can be used to prepare infusions which are prepared from one spoon of leaves boiled in 200ml of water. Frictions can be made with 5g of oil mint dissolved in 95g of concentrate alcohol. They can calm the rheumatic pains and itches. For inhalations, mint oil must be mixed with hot water. This way the flu, laryngitis and hoarseness can be treated.
Mint can be added in salads, deserts, and fruit juices to offer them a refreshing taste. To refresh the air, a few drops of oil mint can be mixed in a vessel with hot water.
The mint tea is recommended for indigestion, distension and for refreshing breath. The infusion can be used as a tonic lotion.
