Allen Vaught must be thanking Barack Obama today, because he pulled it off and gets 2 more years representing... uh... well, I guess we'll see who he decides he's representing, won't we? Allen Vaught didn't accept his win with a "good game" or "nice race" - instead he graciously told his opponent, Bill Keffer, that he needed to "lick his wounds".
As always, this District 107 mom is looking to improve those neighborhood schools - all of them - to the point that families are able to trust that their children are safe. To the point that families of special needs children are able to quit considering a move out of Texas and are able to trust that their school district is acting in the best interest of the child. By now I'm sure Representative Vaught is well aware that there are special needs families throughout district 107 who have no way of accessing a free and appropriate public education for their children. Remember, the wonderful Texas Virtual Academy only works for families who have someone available to act as the child's learning coach.
A little about our state representative: Allen Vaught moved to an east Dallas district 107 neighborhood from Irving. He moved into one of the houses commonly referred to as "McMansions" and started a family. He has 2 young children who are not yet old enough to attend a DISD neighborhood school. Representative Vaught clearly is heavily invested in our community.
Allen Vaught has another shot at representing ___________ in Austin and to make big things happen for our neighborhood schools - ALL OF THEM. So let's sit back and see what happens. I'll do my part to keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Unworthy Bum
