WHAT: The American Diabetes Association and Honorary Spokesperson, Grammy award-winning disco legend Gloria Gaynor, invites New Yorkers to Step Out to Fight Diabetes on Sunday, October 26, 2008. This 4.8 mile walk will raise awareness and money for diabetes research, education and advocacy.
WHERE: South Street Seaport (Fulton & South Streets, Pier 17)

8:30AM: Check-in Begins
9:00AM: Gloria Gaynor will perform "I Will Survive"
9:30AM: Gays Man's Chorus of New York will perform
10:00AM: Walk begins
WHY: To date, there are nearly 24 million Americans who have diabetes and in the last 10 Years the numbers of New Yorkers who have been diagnosed with diabetes have increased by 250% and the death rate has nearly doubled.
