It's the end of week one on the glucomenu. While I'm down weight, I find I have to modify a lot. If you want a plan that doesn't involve a lot of thought or energy this isn't for you. The grocery list isn't specific to the recipes so you will end up buying more than you need. What it should be is a weekly menu for one that can be modified. Measurements like 1 bottle of whatever are not acurate, they need to put in quantities so that you can decide size of item you need without searching the recipies to find it (and some aren't in the recipies, they are in the weekly plan).
I think this plan has promise, but I'll let you know. My idea was to use the 'weekly' menu for two weeks (or more) so that all the stuff I bought on the list doesn't go to waste. Will keep you posted.
On another note, the DVO program, Cook'n Lite & Healthy is a bit clunky. It reminds me of the old games we played when computers first came out (Oregon Trail and 8th grade), but I didn't buy it for the flashy gimmicks, I wanted a place to house my recipes and find a few more. It's not user friendly, and I know my mother wouldn't be able to use it! (She's diabetic too). I don't want to give a bad review, but I've been tooling around with it for a week and I'm not finding it useful. Though you get what you pay for, I paid under $20 for this, it might make a good coaster.
Next plan is to start a local loser contest with my friends. Weight loss and self-management appear to be the key to taking care of diabetes. They ask me what they can do to help and short of the carb-free pizza, I wasn't sure. But this idea makes them put their money (and time and energy) where their mouths are. If you really want to help me, lose weight with me.
It's a challenge. I'll keep updating.
