Wearing improperly shoes can cause health problems such as enlargements, heel pain, and deformed toes, as well as nerve damage. Not only does wearing improper shoes hurt your feet, knee problems can also result from wearing such shoes.
For some people, wearing improper shoes feels the same like wearing all shoes. Their feet become numb to feel the comfort of shoes. Feet that are numb to pain and temperature can be a sign of diabetes.

Diabetic people can have several of foot injures. Some of the cause are because some people have:
- lack of Circulation - Diabetic’s arteries can become stiff and blocked, and fail to bring adequate blood, oxygen, nutrients and medications to injured areas of the body.
- Over Weight - If you have difficulty in reaching your feet, to touch them, checking them carefully can be a problem. It is important to check them thoroughly so small injuries do not become major ones.
- Nerve Damage - Neuropathy, can cause a loss of feeling in your feet. When this happens, you lose the ability to feel when your feet have been injured. You can easily step onto a sharp object, and not know it until your blood is out. If you don?t see any blood, you can worse the injury by leaving it not being taken care of. Soon an infected foot may develop.
How to wear improperly shoes for the diabetic:
- Wear shoes and socks made from natural materials or soft materials. They will have access for healthy air circulation.
- Take time to break in your new shoes. Wear them for 1-2 hours each day and rest for several hour.
- Look for shoes that have a lot of “huge room” for your toes. Do not choose shoes that feel tight.
- If you do not have to use shoes, just wear flipflop sandal that is good for your foot health.
