Rice Expressions Whole Grain Brown Rice Pilaf is now a major component in one of my new favorite healthy, fast and lazy dinners!
I discovered Rice Expressions on a recent shopping trip to my local Whole Foods Market when I had some time and just wandered the freezer aisles checking for new products to try. I've been super busy lately writing my newest book, so any quick and healthy meal I can make is a huge help.
I love rice pilaf, but it is not often offered in its healthiest form for very quick preparation. And I love brown r

I run an organic delivery business in Melbourne Australia. Over the last couple of months, I have had a lot of people presuming my business would be starting to struggle because of the credit crunch. I guess as organic produce is a premium item, consumers with a tight budget would tend to go with cheaper non-organic [...]

We hear so much about the benefits of organic food and why we must spend more on them because it means a healthier life for all of us. It?s ironic, what we call organic today, was a natural way of life half a century ago before the invention of pesticides and chemicals. And now we?re [...]

The poor potato tends to start out nutritiously and then tends to get a bad rap because of its transformation into french fries that tend not to be prepared as healthfully as they could be, loaded baked potatoes and the whole all carbs are bad carbs misunderstanding.
Now that even my current home area of Las Vegas is starting to feel crisp weather, a baked potato can be a great comfort food choice if done right. It's not the potato, which is rich in B vitamins, potassium and fiber (if you eat the skin), has zero grams of trans fat, and

Hi All,
In a bit of a departure for The Healthy Food Review, today we're looking at the super low calorie, low carb light beer MGD 64 from Miller. I am going to assume everyone reading this review is at least of drinking age. If not, please have a responsible adult in your household read it instead.
Now I will tell you straight up that I'm not a beer drinker, but many of my health-conscious readers are and are probably intrigued by this MGD 64 light beer offering, just like one of my health-minded friends was. So this healthy food review will be based on his feedback

Hi All,
Thinking about all the potential Halloween candy that is about to be given out this Friday, I am reminded of one of my first-hand accounts about what chocolate and sugar can do to kids' bodies.
My niece, who was 3 at the time, was really into the movie Shrek, so trying to be the cool Aunt in for a visit, I had bought her a teeny-tiny sample tube of Shrek-colored limited-edition mini M&Ms as a treat. I figured her Mom would dole them out to her over time so no harm done. My niece has always been a handful and we got into playing while she was snacking on a co

Hi All,
After my recent post about Healthy Eating Tips: Healthy Dinners For The Lazy ended up being very popular, I got a lot of readers asking me what healthy frozen food was in my freezer?
You want it, you got it! (Yes that's a Bryan Adams reference.) So in the interest in helping you learn by example :) here's the current list in no order of preference:

Hi All,
For those of you who don't know, October is Vegetarian Awareness Month. I got my start ten years ago going meatless first as a full-fledged vegetarian and then after a year I converted to what is today known as a flexitarian diet.
A flexitarian diet is the most tolerant and forgiving form of meatless eating. There are people who call themselves flexitarians who eat only a handful of meatless meals a week and those, like me, who eat mostly meatless, with fish 2-3 times per week and once in a blue moon turkey or chicken--red meat I have not eaten in over 15 years

Our World is being severly-affected by climate change brought about through a massive build-up of carbon dioxide largely through the burning of fossil fuels and the destruction of trees.
The World usually balances its carbon dioxide levels through the trees which absorb this and emit oxygen however de-aforestation has severly-impeded its ability to do so. Palm-oil [...]

Hi All,
Sometimes you just don't feel like cooking a healthy dinner. And when you start paying too much attention to the fast food ads on TV, or start weakening and are ready to pull into a drive-thru or "to go" restaurant space on your way home, it's easy to get into trouble that ends up showing up on your bathroom scale if you're not careful.
So as a healthy eater, what do I do? Easy! To me it's okay to be lazy in making dinner if you're properly prepared for it! Here are some healthy dinner tips for the lazy:

New research released by the Biological Farmers Association of Australia (BFA) showed farm-gate organic sales in Australia grew by 80 per cent since 2004, with the industry breaking through a $0.5Bn retail value mark for the first time.
The research was published in the Australian Organic Market Report 2008, and found that the organics sector is [...]

Hi All,
I first spotted Pop Chips when I was doing one of my "let's roam up and down the aisles and see what's new" trips to my local natural foods store. Yes I have no life :)
Anyway, there are a lot of great low fat and low calorie crunchy snack choices out there, but personally I had yet to find one that was a great barbecue flavor without partially hydrogenated oil or MSG in it (even in the "health conscious" versions. So the Barbecue Pop Chips caught my eye in the never-ending quest for a healthy barbecue flavored snack.
The Pop Chips bag only made it to t
