Hundreds of diet books place foods into "good" and "bad" categories. Some foods, such as carrots, are considered bad because of their high glycemic index, a ranking system for carbohydrates according to their effect on blood glucose and insulin levels. Meanwhile, blueberries are considered a "power food" because of their antioxidant properties. These claims may lead to confusion and are not always based on sound scientific evidence. Hi All,
One of my pet peeves is that when you check out most prepared pasta dishes and restaurant pasta offerings, it's very hard to find whole wheat pasta. Then when you do, you get the whole wheat pasta, but the cheese used is still high in fat. So you get whole grains, but too much fat!
For example, I was recently quite pleased to see that Buitoni had created a Whole Wheat Four Cheese Ravioli, that offered a nice 5 grams of fiber per serving, but the fat content at 11 grams total per portion, with 6 grams of satura

Hi All,
What a sad world we live in. After being one of those who took Airborne for years and believed very strongly in its merits, we find out today that it is actually at best, "an expensive delivery system for vitamin C" according to the Center For Science In The Public Interest who was part of the Airborne Class Action lawsuit. Her determination, as a single parent, to ensure he always has the best has led her to alter their lives in the most fundamental way-in the food the family eats. Our readers are always asking for great one-stop online keep-toxins-away-from-our-growing-kids resources. Oh how we understand the impulse behind the question. The whole concept of The Complete Organic Pregnancy came about when Deirdre asked me how I planned to make the rest of my (then hypothetical) pregnancy as pure as the organic food I was eating. I didn't have an answer for her. So we both started researching - and found there was no single go-to source. So we turned our findings into the book.

Today, consumers are becoming more aware of the dangers of junk food and fast food. Obesity rates are at their highest levels ever and conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are showing up in young children. Sir, Christopher Caldwell argues in his column of February 23/24 against any benefit from Fidel Castro?s regime. I would argue that one development not mentioned in his article is a benefit for all.
