Hi All, Welcome to the world's tiniest cupcakes and muffins! The new line of Hostess 100 calorie muffins was intriguing to me since I am a big fan of Hostess 100 calorie cupcakes (the chocolate one which brings back fond childhood memories with less calories).  My husband surprised me with the Hostess 100 calorie blueberry muffins and then I saw their banana muffins listed on the package, so I had to try those as well! In case you haven't opened the box to one of these Hostess 100 calorie products before, I want you

Many florists anticipate greater sales of organic roses, now that they are more readily available. "Roses were once a flower that I did not take pleasure in working with due to the toxic chemicals that were used to grow them, but now that organic roses are readily available they are one of my favorites," says Sherene Hulug

Organic food has become quite the trend in recent years, and with sustainability and the environment on everybody's minds, it seems the trend is here to stay. Although high prices and a lack of variety at the grocery store hinder many from actually trying synthetic-free food, there are companies out there willing to help.

Hi All, Super bowl ads are not known for showcasing healthy foods, as usally fast food, beer and soda are the food industry focus.  But it was interesting to see that Gatorade was pushing their new lower-calorie entrant--G2--using a slim, sharp-dressed Derek Jeter as the main focus of the ad (sorry Gatorade, at 100 calories a bottle, and with high fructose corn syrup as a main ingredient, I'll pass).  Same thing goes for Glaceau Vitamin Water, which had Shaq as a jockey, and SoBe Life Water had the Michael Jackson lizar

Such was the case one cold Colorado day recently when I was trying to relieve some "cabin fever" and decided to bundle up to walk to my nearby Wal-Mart Super Center (less than half a mile fortunately from where

Hi All,

Recently I realized I was having trouble burning enough calories in a day, and I couldn't figure out why.  I was still working out--walking and weight lifting--about the same as before, yet my daily total was under where it should be.

Suddenly, I noticed from tracking my pedometer that my total number of steps per day was down substantially despite maintaining, and even lengthening, the distance and duration of some of those walking workouts.  So what was up if my number of steps wasn't?

I though

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, examining 31 weight-loss studies found that long-term dieting doesn't keep the pounds off. While people can lose weight initially, many relapse and regain the weight they shed. The findings confirm what many scientists have been saying all along: Losing weight is easy. Keeping it off is another story. "If dieting worked, there would be a bunch of skinny people walking around," said obesity researcher Dr. David Katz, head of Yale University's Prevention Research Center. Since
