Duplex house plans have been created for the convenience of those people who want to have their own homes without having to spend too much money. These homes can either be bungalows or also they can be duplex apartments. For the bungalows, the ones that we can distinguish, to be composed of two different parts are called as the duplex bungalows. They may be two different bungalows that have a wall in common wall. Alternatively, they may be the same house, which has two different types of making, in the two different parts and not having any internal connection between them.

This is dependent on whether they are designed for the living of two different families or people or just one owner. They both may have different likes and dislikes and therefore a proper plan is required considering both them.
Both the sides of the duplex should be given the right consideration. Both of them may be planned for equal area and other facilities, the other part may be just planned as a secondary part of the house for the stay of the guest, or for somebody else who is temporary. If both are to be given equal consideration then, both of them need to have all the necessary rooms in the house. Therefore, both need to have living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, toilets, bathrooms, and balconies.
However, while the duplex house planning; it is important that maximum privacy is maintained in both the parts. For this, a thick wall should be present in between them. This should not let the sounds from one part to enter the other part. It is better if the halls of the duplex are apart from each other. For this, the duplexes can have entrances at different corners of the house. However, both of them should be facing the front side of the house or both them should be on the sides.
There should be sufficient space on both the sides i.e. at the main doors, in the duplex house plan.
The duplex house plans should also consider that the toilets and the bathrooms of both the parts should lie close to each other. As both the parts of the duplex are in touch with each other, this becomes very important as if, they are close to the other rooms of the adjourning part, then their smells may enter that room and cause problems.
As most of the people like the direct sunlight coming in their house, the duplex should be such that the sunlight enters directly in the rooms in both the parts of the duplex.
