IN FRIBOURG (SWITZERLAND), THE CHURCH HAS ENCOURAGED ART BRUT
After his show about art brut in Japan, the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne features artists from Fribourg (Switzerland). From here or elsewhere, the art is in any way a current “exotic” view of the marginality of its creators. Switzerland and the canton of Fribourg in particular represent “fertile soil in the field of art brut,” said Lucienne Peiry, curator of the museum, in the preface to the catalog.
